By Ann: Be an emotional and energy investor, not an emotional and energy spender. You wouldn’t invest your hard-earned money in a bad investment with no returns, so the same principle applies to your emotions. Don’t invest your feelings and energy into people who are not interested in your wellbeing. It is nice to do good acts to people who are worse off than you as long as you don’t overspend all your energy.
Your health is worth more than all the money in the world, you cannot buy your health. If you invested your money in a bad deal, you would pull out and look for something more secure and safe. If you are around people who drain your energy and don’t treat you properly, learn quickly not to waste your time and just move on and be good to yourself. You do yourself no favors by getting upset or angry, it is of no advantage to you, and you put yourself in an emotional deficit.
You put yourself in a position where you miss out on the good things in life and good people worth meeting. Have a purpose in life and stick to it and only dedicate your time to it. Our thoughts, feelings and behaviours over time help us grow to emotional maturity. Being frugal with your money will benefit you in the long run and give you a comfortable lifestyle. Being sensible with your feelings will benefit you in the long run by thinking before you act and not making the same mistakes. Our friends and family are worth our love and effort as long as they support your purposes in life and have your best interests at heart.
Being balanced will give you healthy emotions and relationships which are worth investing in. Your first investment should be yourself by lifelong learning and education and to prioritize your mental health. Setting goals and sticking to them and starting off small so you are not overwhelmed. If someone is emotionally invested with you, they want to be with you and spend time with you and want to share their life and family with you and you with them. Not everyone will like you, and that is okay, you can’t please everyone. It is okay to have different opinions to each other because we don’t all think the same and have different upbringings and cultures.
As far as love goes, save your feelings for someone who deserves them. Learn from your mistakes and don’t keep repeating history and don’t let your emotions rule your thinking. Let the dust settle and take off the rose-coloured glasses and after a while you will see the person for who they really are, which is a good thing and then you can start to get to know each other without rushing into anything. Only mothers put themselves last with their children and lifelong partners and friends are not your children, so put your values and morals out there and make sure you are respected. You must respect yourself first and never let anyone treat you any differently to what you deserve. Your best asset is yourself and you need to look after your mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
Feeling great about yourself is the best start to attracting the right kind of friends. You may need to break the cycle of your upbringing and learn to have goals and priorities and don’t lower your standards and true friends will respect that and treat you properly. Don’t let anyone take your power away from you and make you feel a lesser person, learn to walk away from toxic situations and don’t stand and argue your point of view. Arguing is like trying to explain to a blind person what a sunset looks like; they will never be able to see it the way you do. Stressing about the weather is futile just like stressing about other people, it is out of your control and chronic stress is a silent killer. Stay mindful and keep grounded, and when you hit bumps in the road you will be balanced and not go out of control and keep breathing and take control of the situation. Accept the things you cannot change. There is always another action to take and another door to open with better results.
Love and Light,
Ann
